Let's Build a Bike!

Welcome to my blog!  My card for today is clean & simple with a springtime flair:

The stamp set is called Bike Ride and the Framelits are "Build a Bike".  It's a perfect name, because you literally can build a bike!  Here are the pieces before they're assembled:

I used liquid glue to assemble the pieces on my Silicone Craft Sheet.  The flowers are colored with Stampin' Blends.

The fun is in the details...

The streamers on the handlebars are cut from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  The frame, wheels and basket are embossed with white on Mint Macaron cardstock.  Three rhinestone jewels add some more sparkle.

I'm thinking that a stack of these in a rainbow of colors would make a lovely gift!

A Sunny Hello with Large Letters Framelits

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Today I have a card that's eye-catching, yet easy to create.  It's a friendly "Hello" created with Painted Harvest & the Large Letters Framelits.

The letters are cut from Pineapple Punch cardstock with Mango Melody ink rolled along the bottom using a Sponge Brayer.  I applied the Mango Melody ink before cutting the letters.  The shadow is a second set of letters cut from Soft Suede cardstock and adhered slightly offset from the yellow letters.  I used liquid glue for this so I'd have "wiggle-room" to get them just right.

Isn't that sunflower gorgeous?!  I stamped the outer layer with Pineapple Punch, the second layer with Mango Melody and the center with Soft Suede.  The dots are stamped in Granny Apple Green.

I used the Envelope Punch Board to create an envelope to fit my card.  By using double-sided designer papers, the envelope is as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside!

Here are the dimensions to re-create this card:

Thick Whisper White cs 7" x 8", score the short side @ 3-1/2"
Soft Suede cs 3-1/4" x 7-3/4"
Whisper White cs 3" x 7-1/2"

Designer Paper for Envelope - 9-1/4" x 9-1/4", line up edge @ 2-7/8"

A Tall Card

Welcome to my blog!

Sometimes a standard A2 sized card isn't quite right to show off all the features of a favorite stamp set like Lift Me Up, so today I've created a tall card:

This card is 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" (cut your cardstock 7" x 8-1/2", score at 3-1/2").  It's the perfect size & shape to showcase all the different balloon sizes in the Up & Away Thinlits.

All the details...

The colors are Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Grapefruit Grove and Real Red.  The card base is sponged all over with Balmy Blue.  The clouds are embossed with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The largest balloon and clouds are attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.

"Every cloud has a silver lining" - love the shine these clouds get from the embossing powder.

This explains how to assemble the beautiful detailed balloon die-cut.

Obviously, a non-standard card requires a non-standard envelope.  I used the Envelope Punch Board to make this colorful envelope that coordinates with my card.  I'm surprised that Stampin' Up chose to retire this punch board, but nobody asked me, lol!  I used a retired designer paper for the envelope.  It's a good weight, and a good way to use up leftover papers.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  The Envelope Punch Board will be gone soon, as will Lift Me Up and the Up & Away Thinlits, so order yours soon to avoid disappointment!
