Tune In for a Personalized Birthday Card

 Hi stampers,

I have a fun, fun project to share with you!

This retro TV has so many possibilities, but my favorite is using it like this with a photo.  This is a card that will be saved - who hasn't fantasized about seeing themselves on TV, lol!

I picked my colors sticking with the retro theme - Pretty in Pink & Basic Black.  If you're of a certain age, you know what I mean ---

Tip:  If you want to go totally retro, print your photo in black & white or sepia tones!

Carrying the theme over to the envelope is always a good idea!  The striped paper is from a 6 x 6 pack.  After I cut it 4" x 5-1/4", I had a piece 2" x 6" leftover.  That's not quite wide enough to cover the entire envelope flap, so I added a 1/4" strip of the black designer paper to the edge.

Make Ahead Tip-

Make these ahead and just leave one end of the television set open with no adhesive, ready to slide in a photo!

Abundant Beauty Masks for a Milestone Birthday

I wanted to share this card I made for a very special lady who's turning 95 this month.

My friend is amazing.  One of her favorite activities is making cards, so I hope she likes this one!

I used the Abundant Beauty Masks, Blending Brushes & Very Vanilla cardstock to create the sunflowers, then fussy-cut them.  Colors are Lemon Lolly, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie & Early Espresso.  The inside & outside sentiments are from a new stamp set called "So Sincere".

The beautiful paper I used for the numbers and strip along the bottom is Oxidized Copper Specialty DSP.

This fun fold is one of my favorites, the Double Z-Fold.  The base of the card is 4-1/4" x 11" (Daffodil Delight) scored at 2-3/4" & 5-1/2".  The band along the bottom is 11" x 1-1/4", scored at 5-1/2" & 2-3/4".

The two patterned designer papers I used are retired, but you probably have some others that would be lovely on this card style!  The 2 yellow panels are 2-1/2" x 4" and the large brown panel is 5-1/4" x 4".
The Oxidized Copper strips are 5-1/4" x 1" & 2-1/2" x 1" (2 pieces).

The trickiest part of the Double Z-Fold is fastening the band.  The long section of the band is glued to the short front section.  The easiest way to to apply liquid glue to the folded band, as that exposes only the sections that should have glue.  You'll want to fold the card closed while adhering the band in place.  Definitely have a "dry run" at it before applying glue.

Diamond Fun Fold with the Zany Zoo Crew

This is one of my favorite fun folds!  It's wonderful for showing off beautiful designer papers, and it's a great card to display.

This card is easy to recreate, you just need a focal image (or sentiment) that will fit on a 3" x 3" square, and your favorite coordinating designer papers.

I used Lemon Lime Twist for my card base.  It's 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2" & 8-7/8".  On the smallest section, make a pencil mark @ 2-1/8" and use your trimmer to cut the diamond shape.

Align the pencil mark and each end of the scoreline in the track of the trimmer to cut the diamond shape.

Here are the rest of the measurements you'll need to make this card:

3" x 3" square of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock

2-5/8" x 2-5/8" square of Basic Black cardstock

Stitched square die-cut about 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" cut from Basic White

Inside sentiment - Basic White cardstock 2-7/8" x 4"

Zoo Crew DSP 3-1/8" x 4" (2)

Zoo Crew DSP 2-1/4" x 4" (1)

Scraps of Basic White & Basic Black for the banner, turtle & raccoon

Stamp the animals & color with Stampin' Blends.  Stamp the banner sentiment in Versamark & use White Stampin' Emboss Powder then heat set.  Die-cut the animals and the banner.

Adhere the DSP to the card base as shown in the photos.  Assemble the Lemon Lime, Black & White squares together.  Stamp the music notes on the white square, keeping in mind the direction it will be mounted on the card.  Use liquid glue on the folded-back diamond section of the card base and mount the assembled squares there, matching the edges together.

Adhere the raccoon, black banner & inside sentiment.  The turtle is mounted to the front with Dimensionals.

Here are links to the products I used on this card.  The Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper is on sale through the end of June - the sale price will show when you add it to your cart!
