Quick & Easy Sailing Home Card

Welcome to my blog!  I love to use stamps with a nautical or beach theme.  Stampin' Up's Sailing Home Bundle has become sort of an obsession with me lately.  Here's another using this beautiful set:

This one is super simple!  It uses only one ink - Night of Navy - and 3 colors of cardstock - Night of Navy, Whisper White & Crumb Cake.

The fishing net is cut from the Under the Sea Dies.  I used spray adhesive to attach it.  You can find this anywhere that has a good selection of adhesives.  Just be careful of overspray - I have a large box that I spray into, or you could spray it outdoors.

The lighthouse & banner are popped up on Dimensionals.  The Stitched Rectangle Dies make a beautiful frame.  You could change the look of this card dramatically just be using a different color card base.  What about Real Red - give it a patriotic vibe with red, white & blue!

Make Your Own Designer Paper Background

Hi, stampers!  Today I have one more Sailing Home card...although I can't promise it will be the last one.  It's just such a great set - there are so many ways to use it and your cards will be beautiful every time!

The first layer on this card was created by stamping the compass in Balmy Blue on Balmy Blue cardstock, then embossing it with the Subtle embossing folder.  Here's how it looks prior to embossing and assembling the card:

Did you know...

Always stamp first, emboss second.  It just doesn't work in the reverse.  Trust me on this, been there done that!

The Night of Navy banner is 1" wide and flagged on one end using the Triple Banner Punch.  The anchor is popped up on Dimensionals and the ship's wheel trinket is adhered with 2 glue dots.

Corner Tuck Fold with You Always Deliver

Welcome to my blog!  I just received Stampin' Up's new "You Always Deliver" stamp set and I've been mulling over ways to use it.  This card was inspired by Lisa Curcio's design for a Corner Tuck Fold card - here's my version:

Such cute images in this set!  A nice variety of sentiments, too.  This one was perfect for the recipient I have in mind.

The card opens by untucking the corner to reveal the greeting inside.  This greeting comes from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

Here's how it's made -

  • Poppy Parade card base 4-1/4" x 8", scored at 5-1/2"
  • Poppy Parade cardstock for the corner cut 2-1/4" x 2-1/4", cut on the diagonal (use only half for this card)
  • Night of Navy cardstock 3-1/4" x 4-5/8"
  • Stitched Rectangle Die size 3" x 4-3/8" (cut 2)
  • Come Sail Away Designer Paper 2-1/4" x 4"

The coloring was all done with Stampin' Blends.  The tone-on-tone flowers in the corner are from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set as well as the "for you" tag, which is attached with a Stampin' Dimensional.  The corner triangle is adhered with 3 glue dots - one at each point of the triangle.
