Bewitching Treat Box

These boxes are a fun way to gift a little treat to someone special for Halloween!

I created my own box using the Bewitching Stamp & Punch Bundle.  It's filled with my favorite, Dove chocolates!

I'm sharing this project at a new challenge blog (new to me, anyway!), Stampin' Up! Only Challenges.  The theme for #312 is Halloween!

Here's the template.  Cut a piece of cardstock 7-1/2" x 6-3/4".  I used Pumpkin Pie.  Score the long side at 1-1/2", 2", 4-1/2", and 5".  Score the short side at 1", 1-1/2", 5-1/4" & 5-3/4".  Using paper snips, cut out the 4 corners along score lines as shown in the orange shaded areas.

The designer paper is Plaid Tidings from 2020 (retired).  The top piece is 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" (round the corners).  The bottom piece is 2-1/4" x 3-1/2".  Be sure to use a strong adhesive to assemble the box - double sided Tear & Tape or Liquid Multi-purpose Glue.

Added a little surprise message on the inside!

The box is held closed with a belly band, 1" x 7", cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  The witches hat is stamped in black.  I used the Stamparatus so I could stamp it 2-3 times until it was a deep, rich black.  The dots are colored with Stampin' Blends.  The hat band is made from a piece of white glimmer cardstock colored with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends marker.

I would LOVE to be your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  If you live in the U.S., you can order your papercrafting supplies from my online store.  Just click any of the images below.  So easy!

 THANK YOU!

Sweet Treats for Ghosties & Goblins

I had a lot of fun with these hinged lid boxes!  They are so easy to make, and don't take a lot of materials.

Here's the basic recipe:

The 6 tabs are secured with Tear & Tape or your favorite double-sided tape adhesive.   Be sure to adhere the center tabs to the box bottom (not the lid).  This is super important for the lid to fit properly on the box.

The top is decorated with a 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" piece of designer paper.  The moon is a 2" circle of cardstock.  The cat is punched from Basic Black cardstock and accented with a box tied from Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon.  How simple!

I added a little tag on the side to the box.  This one is from the September 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit "Harvest & Haunts".

This box holds 6 Hershey's Nuggets wrapped in 1" x 3" strips of designer paper.

I hope you'll try this box and let me know what you think.  I could come up with so many ways to decorate these!  The lid fits quite well on these boxes, but if you want extra security you could make a belly band and decorate that.  If you want to see an example, check this blog post.

A Pair of Summertime Samplers

 Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite projects, a pair of samplers.  This is a gift for dear friends we visit every summer who have a lakeside cottage.  The idea for these has been floating around in my head since last summer.  They tell the story of a very wonderful place!

These are sized to fit a 9" x 9" shadowbox frame (purchased from Michael's Crafts).  The bottom layer of white cardstock is 9" x 9" and the Pool Party cardstock layer on top of that is 8-1/2" x 8-1/2".  Each individual section is matted in Pretty Peacock cardstock.  Let's take a closer look at each:

I pulled together a LOT of different Stampin' Up products, some retired and some current, for this project.  Starting at the top left and going clockwise, here is a list:

1)  Lilypad Lake & Lakeside Framelits (retired) and Waterfront Stamp Set
2)  Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper, Sailing Home Stamp Set & Smooth Sailing Dies
3)  Large Letters Framelits (retired)
4)  Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper & Catch of the Day Dies (retired)
5)  Best Catch Stamp Set (retired), Catch of the Day Dies (retired) & Dockside Dies
6)  Best Catch Stamp Set (retired) & Catch of the Day Dies (retired)

Again, from the top left going clockwise:

1)  Large Letters Framelits (retired)
2)  Colorful Seasons Stamp Set (retired), Seasonal Layers Thinlits (retired), By the Dock Stamp Set,            Dockside Dies, & Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper
3)  July 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit
4)  Jar of Love Stamp Set (retired) & Everyday Jars Framelits (retired)
5)  By the Dock Stamp Set, Dockside Dies, Waterfront Stamp Set, Stitched Rectangle Dies & Timeless       Tropical Stamp Set

WHEW!  I told you I used a lot of different products, lol.  Hopefully I didn't forget to list any of them!

I chose white frames to complement the colors on the samplers.

I don't usually share projects that use so many retired products, but I hope you enjoy these and get some great ideas for your own samplers and cards.  If I can answer any questions about these samplers, please leave a comment below or email me!

2020 Desk Calendar using Good Morning Magnolia

Hi friends, welcome to my blog!  As we get ready to say goodbye to December and welcome a new year, I thought this would be a timely project to share.

The calendar base is 4-1/4" x 11", scored at 5-1/2".  The inside part that keeps the calendar upright is 4" x 5", scored on the long side at 1/2", 2-1/2" & 4-1/2".  The 2-1/2" scoreline is a mountain fold; the other 2 are valley folds.  A piece of Tear & Tape adhesive on the 1/2" portions holds everything in place.  The designer paper is 4" x 5-1/4".

The large magnolia is stamped on Thick Whisper White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin' Blends in Light & Dark Petal Pink & Mossy Meadow.  The center was colored with Dark Daffodil Delight.  I brushed the entire flower with Clear Wink of Stella and added 3 Champagne Rhinestones (available January 3!)  The flower is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals, except for the leaf under the calendar, where I added a drop of liquid glue.

The calendar is from Taylored Expressions (www.tayloredexpressions.com).
