Colorful Seasons

Happy Fall, Y'all!  Where I live in northern Ohio, fall is my favorite season.  But this year, the leaves in my backyard aren't turning the vibrant colors that they usually do - something about high heat, humidity & too much rain.  So this year I'm making my own colorful leaves!  Where there's a will, there's a way :)

The gorgeous maple leaves on my card are from Colorful Seasons.  The card base is Crushed Curry, the mat is Cajun Craze, and the card front is Very Vanilla.

This week I'm playing along with Addicted to CAS Challenge #147.  CAS = Clean And Simple, something that is challenging for me!

The lovely gradient on the leaves was achieved with the Stamparatus.  On the largest leaves, for example, I stamped them once in Crushed Curry, then using a sponge dauber, dabbed Cajun Craze along the edges of the leaves and stamped a second time.

All of the stamping on this card was done with Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, and Early Espresso (for the sentiment).  The die-cut is from Copper Foil.  This is a quick & easy card!  I hope you'll give it a go.

Milestone Birthday Card

Oh So Eclectic is one of my favorite floral stamp sets.  Paired with the Large Numbers Framelits (sadly retired), it makes a beautiful card to celebrate a milestone birthday!

I'm submitting this card to the Global Design Project 160 CASE the Designer Challenge.  I was inspired by the colors on this gorgeous card by Kristin Frattin:

The large flowers are from Oh So Eclectic and the Eclectic Layers Thinlits.  The 3 small flowers in Grapefruit Grove are die-cuts from the Detailed Deer Thinlits and the clusters of smaller flowers and leaves are from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.  The flourish behind "90" comes from the Timeless Textures stamp set.

I used Very Vanilla for the card front because it blends so nicely with these colors to give this card a soft, feminine feel.

Did you know?

The secret to designing a card like this is to die-cut the flowers and leaves you want to use in three coordinating colors.  Arrange them on your card without adhering them, trying different layouts and colors until you are happy with the result.  When you're satisfied with the design, snap a picture with your cell phone to refer to as you glue the pieces in place.  Choose one of the 3 colors as your card base for seamless coordination.

Beautiful Card Ideas from Our Team

All the cards that I'm sharing today were created by my lovely and talented team members.  At most of our team meetings we swap cards for ideas & inspiration.  It is always optional to participate, but most do because it is so much fun!  At the end of this post I will share links to the products used on their cards.

Carolyn used the Winter Woods Bundle paired with Silver Foil Paper & the Softly Falling Embossing Folder for her card.  Beautiful!

Laura used the Farmhouse Christmas Bundle & the Corrugated Embossing Folder to create this clever Gift Card Holder made from an envelope.

Vicki's card uses the Alpine Adventures Bundle , Corrugated Embossing Folder and Designer Series Paper from the Festive Farmhouse Suite.  Wonderful not only for Christmas but winter birthdays, too!

Cindy's card highlights the beauty of the Petal Promenade Designer Paper on matching Fresh Fig cardstock.

And this is my card created using Wishing You Well.
