Birds & Branches Love

 Hi Friends,

Today I've created a card that could be used for weddings, anniversaries, or really anytime you want to say "I love you".

I created this with the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch in mind - CTS #385.

The sentiment comes from my Good Morning Magnolia stamp set -

I used a sticky note to cover the bottom 2 lines of the stamp while I inked up just the portion I wanted on my card.

The colors are Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight, Whisper White & Cherry Cobbler.  The circle is die-cut first before adding texture with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

To create the clouds, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock the same size as the blue card front - 4" x 5-1/4".  Using a cloud shape that I cut out of a piece of thick scrap cardstock, I sponged on some Misty Moonlight, moving the cloud around until I was happy with the effect.

Free as a Bird

Welcome to my blog!  What beautifully detailed images you'll find in Stampin' Up's Free as a Bird stamp set.  They are perfect for coloring, or not!  I turned this little birdie into a Bluebird of Happiness :)

I love simplicity.  A good design doesn't need a lot of extra embellishments!  The sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch (CTS #325) was the inspiration for this card.

The card front is a piece of Thick Whisper White 4-1/8" x 5-3/8".  The stitched rectangle die that I used is 3-1/8" x 4-1/2" O.D.  I laid the die on the card front and marked the inside with a light pencil line to see where to stamp.

I stamped the main image first, then added the 5 flowers.  Next I colored the bird, cut out the rectangle and used the Subtle Embossing Folder to add texture to the outside perimeter of the card.

The sentiment is embossed in white and popped up on Dimensionals.

Free as a Bird is part of the Bird Ballad Suite - there are beautiful designer papers, dies, lace trim, laser-cut cards and trinkets that coordinate with this stamp set.  Be sure to check them all out!

Something's Fishy...

Something's fishy here...it's a colorful, ten-minute card!  With no layers, only one repeating image and very little in the way of embellishments, it's not my usual style.  So what do you think - can I pull off clean & simple?

My inspiration for this card came from CAS(E) this Sketch (CTS#280).

This cute little fish is from the Jar of Love stamp set.  I stamped him (yes, it's a boy fish) randomly in Blueberry Bushel, Coastal Cabana, Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody & Lemon Lime Twist.  The "Best Fishes" greeting is included with the same stamp set.  The outline around the greeting comes from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  I fussy-cut the shape, although the Classic Label punch fits it perfectly (it's on my wish list)!

My only embellishment was 3 glittery bubbles (enamel dots).

Additionally, I'm submitting this card to Challenge #89 at The Male Room - Fish/Fishing.  Be sure to visit both of these card challenge sites - the talent there is nothing short of amazing!
