Sneak Peek - My First Share from the 2019 Occasions Catalog!

I love creating cards & gift packaging for Christmas, but I'm ready to move on to something different!  The 2019 Occasions catalog has so many gorgeous new products, not to mention the Sale-a-Bration offerings (squeal of delight!)  Here's my first card using one of the new stamp sets:

The stamp set is called Humming Along - available January 3.  There is a gorgeous hummingbird in this set too - hence the name.  I colored the image with my Stampin' Blends.

The "Thank you" was stamped using 2 different techniques - masking and the hinge-step Stamparatus technique. It's much simpler than it sounds!  First, stamp the flower image in Memento Tuxedo Black on your card front.  Then stamp it a second time on a large Post-It note and fussy-cut it out.  Place the Post-It over the stamped image on the card front - you've just created the mask.

Now, place the card front on the Stamparatus.  Secure it in place with a magnet.  Place the "Thank you" where you would like the first image stamped (near the top of the card).  Stamp it, then lift the Stamparatus plate and move it down one notch on the hinges.  Stamp again.  Repeat until you have stamped it 4 times.  Remove the mask from the hibiscus image and color with your Stampin' Blends.  That's it - you're ready to mount it on your card base!

Ghiradelli Matchbook Favors

It's not too late to make some cute favors and/or gifts for a special co-worker, neighbor, helper or friend.  These quick and easy treat holders are always appreciated!  Give them individually, or group a few in a clear treat bag tied with a pretty bow - they'll think of you all year long!

These are fun to make and you can create a bunch in no time at all!

They fit a Ghiradelli square perfectly.  It's held in place with a single glue dot.  Love the festive wrapper on these!

Here's the simple recipe:  Cut cardstock 7-3/4" x 2-1/4".  Score the long side at 3/4", 4-1/4" & 4-1/2".
Designer paper for the front is 3-1/4" x 2".  Round the 2 front corners that tuck under the 3/4" flap.  Use a single staple in the center of the 3/4" flap and cover it with a piece of coordinating washi tape.  Decorate the front by stamping a greeting and cutting it with the 1-7/8" stitched shape circle framelit.  Mount it on a 2" cardstock circle.

This is a great project to use up your designer paper scraps.  Did you know that each package of Stampin' Up designer paper lists the coordinating colors on the package insert?  No guesswork to find coordinating cardstocks!  Here are the products that I used to create these treat holders:

Dashing Deer with Copper Accents

Are your holiday cards altready in the mail?  Or perhaps, have you procrastinated just a bit, lol?  Here’s another idea for the procrastinators among us.  Or if all else fails, consider yourself really on the ball for next year!

This was created using one of my favorite bundles from the 2018 Holiday Catalog, Dashing Deer.  The card base is Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the scalloped oval is cut from Tranquil Tide.  The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White using Soft Suede ink and the deer was stamped in Sahara Sand.

Can't forget the inside!

The small flowers are die-cut from Copper Foil & Sahara Sand cardstocks and adhered with Glue Dots.  The designer paper is Joyous Noel - this was so popular this season that it's sold out and no longer available.  But have no fear!  Just grab your favorite Christmas designer paper and choose cardstock and inks that coordinate with it.  That's one of the things I love most about Stampin' Up - it's so easy to create a beautiful, polished card simply by taking advantage of all the color coordinated products in our catalog!

With the exception of the ovals, all of the stamped images and die-cuts are included in the Dashing Deer Bundle.

This is Buster, helping me write this blog post.
In spite of all his help, I somehow managed to finish!

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope your Christmas crafting is all fun and no stress!

Wishing You Well with Christmas Plaid

Wishing You Well is such a versatile stamp set!  The simple & elegant images make beautiful cards just to say "I'm thinking of you" but they also make gorgeous Christmas cards.

This lovely plaid is part of the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper pack.  The stamping is done in Real Red & Old Olive.  The wreath is stamped on a 2-3/4" square of Whisper White cardstock, matted on a 3" square of Real Red.

My photo doesn't do it justice, but the bow was sparkled up with a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush before fussy-cutting & adhering it with Stampin' Mini-Dimensionals.  "Season's Greetings" was embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.

The inside is beautiful too - and easy to stamp using the Stamparatus positioning tool.  The sentiment is from Timeless Tidings.

This is a quick & easy Christmas card that you could adapt to use with your favorite designer paper.  I hope you'll give it a try!
