Sending Smiles

Sending Smiles is quickly becoming one of my favorites! The whimsical flowers are so much fun to stamp with bright, bold colors.  And the sentiments are such a useful assortment - pretty much every occasion covered!

The inks I used are Orchid Oasis, Polished Pink, Granny Apple Green (leaves), Tuxedo Black and Parakeet Party (flower centers).  "Sending" is embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Basic Black cardstock.  The background is embossed with the Gingham Embossing Folder.

Beautiful Sympathy Card

I'm still using the gorgeous flowers I cut out of DSP to make my Mother's Day Card - you can see that post here.

For this card I created a standard sized card base from Fresh Freesia cardstock and glued a 1" x 5-1/2" strip of black & white patterned DSP along the edge on the card front.  Then I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White and cut 3/4" off the right side using the Scalloped Contours Dies.  The dots (Forever Fern) are stamped using Smoky Slate and the sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

The leaf spray (Forever Flourishing Dies) is glued flat to the card front and the flowers are on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Happiness Abounds with Brilliant Wings

Hello all!  This card was created for the Global Design Project Theme Challenge "Beautiful Bugs". This is one of those ideas that came to me in the middle of the night, lol!

I just recently bought the Brilliant Wings Dies.  My head is full of different ideas for using these, so you'll probably be seeing a lot more of them on my blog very soon!  This is a standard card base (8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored on the long side at 4-1/4") cut from Highland Heather cardstock.  The card front is Basic White 4" x 5-1/4".

I made this card by arranging 5 of the Brilliant Wings dies on the card front and running them through my die-cutting machine all at once.  I used Post-It tape to anchor them down so none of them moved on me.  I then carefully removed them and embossed the card front with Stampin' Up's Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder (retired).

The color behind the butterflies comes from a piece of Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  I love the colors in this paper, but it's really busy on it's own and the butterflies soften it up so nicely!

I adhered the Designer Paper to the card base first, then used liquid glue on the back of the embossed piece, going carefully around the edges of all the butterfly cut-outs so nothing lifts up and adhered this on top of the DSP.  The last step was to place all of the butterflies using Mini Glue Dots and add some bling - Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels.  The sentiments on my card are included in the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set.
