Lots of Love at Christmas

My last Christmas card for this season is for someone very near & dear to me.

The background designer paper is Heartwarming Hugs.  The poinsettias are fussy-cut from Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper.

I die-cut the heart first before embossing it with one of my favorite folders to give it some texture.  The sentiment, from Itty Bitty Christmas, is fussy-cut.

Have a very blessed Christmas and a joyful New Year!

Simple Hanukkah Card

Even though Hanukkah is over for this year (December 10-18), I wanted to share this card because I was so pleased with this simplicity of it.

I designed this for my friend who celebrates Hanukkah.  Often called the Festival of Lights, the holiday celebrates with the lighting of the menorah, traditional foods, games and gifts.  Lighting the special, nine-branch candelabrum is the main ritual of Hanukkah.  There are nine candlesticks - one for each night of Hanukkah and an extra one to light the others.

My candles are 1/2" strips of Brightly Gleaming Designer Paper.  The flames are cut from copper foil sheets using the "egg" of the Birds & More Dies!

All of the copper foil accents make this simple card striking!  The sentiment is included in the Snowflake Wishes stamp set.

Joy to the World

 Hi Friends,

I'm mixing it up on this card with two of my favorite colors - Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.

I used a variety of die sets to create this - Playful Alphabet, So Many Snowflakes, Stitched So Sweetly & Tasteful Labels.

The "Joy" and one of the snowflakes are cut from retired Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The "to the world" sentiment came from my November Paper Pumpkin kit!  All of the small pieces (snowflakes, lettering, banner) are mounted onto the stitched scalloped rectangle with liquid glue, then the entire piece is mounted to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I'm sharing this card at Global Design Project for their Winter/Holiday theme - #GDP271.

Edited December 21 - this card was one of the top 3 winners at GDP!

Senior Years

How fun is this card for a 30th Anniversary?  The friends I made it for have a new cat, and they're totally smitten.  I hope they like it!  I fussy-cut this cutie from my Playful Pets DSP.

Pro tip for creating this (or any) card:  Choose the designer paper you want to use first and then choose your cardstock and Blends based on the colors in the DSP.  Stampin' Up makes color coordination easy!

I love the Playful Alphabet Dies for personalizing cards.  The sentiment is from Seaside Notions.
