More Sweet Sunflower Alternatives

I'm seriously kicking myself for not ordering more than one kit from Paper Pumpkin last month.  Sweet Sunflowers is at the top of my all-time favorites list!  Here are some more alternatives I created with this kit---

For this one I mounted the honeycomb die-cut on a piece of Basic Black cardstock and used Crushed Curry for the card base.  The sentiment from Welcoming Window is embossed in Crushed Curry.

On this one I stamped the sunflower in Early Espresso, and the center in Soft Suede.  The petals are colored with Daffodil Delight (dark) and Pumpkin Pie (dark) Stampin' Blends.  The center is filled in with Soft Suede (light).  The foliage is stamped in Mossy Meadow.  "Thank you" is stamped in Early Espresso and the frame is hand-drawn with an Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker and a ruler.  The card base is Mossy Meadow.  There's a slightly smaller panel of Mossy Meadow embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder mounted to the card base behind the stamped panel.  Brass butterflies are the finishing touch.

This one uses 1/2 of one of the card fronts from the kit mounted on Mossy Meadow cardstock and embossed with the Timeworn Type EF.  The greeting (Dandelion Wishes) is stamped & embossed in Blackberry Bliss and mounted on Stampin' Dimensionals.  A simple gold twine bow & 3 Brass Butterflies make this card "pop".

Here are some of the extra supplies I added to the kit to create these alternatives:

Fall Barn Thinking of You Card

I designed this for a friend who's been having a rough time recently and loves all things country.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.  These colors are so calming!

I used the Christmas Barn Bundle for the focal point on my card.  The barn and fence are stamped in Early Espresso ink on Soft Suede cardstock and die-cut.  The card base is Soft Suede, the mat is Pale Papaya (4" x 5-1/4"), and the card front is Crumb Cake (3-3/4" x 5").

There's a lot of detail on the barn stamp.  I love that it's suitable for coloring, but looks great stamped on colored cardstock too!

The leaves on the background are stamped in Pale Papaya.  The 3 leaves in the corner are cut from Merry Merlot, Pale Papaya and Brushed Metallic cardstock.  These are from a retired Stampin' Up! bundle called Colorful Seasons.  If you don't have this, the current Season of Chic Bundle has oak leaves in it that would be gorgeous!

I'm playing along with two card challenges this week that have a Fall theme (tis the season!)---

I'm using Any Shape Die, Free & Sentiment

Used the solid leaf stamp in Pale Papaya to embellish a Very Vanilla envelope, too.  This card was easy to create, I hope you'll give it a go!

August Paper Pumpkin Alternative #1

 Hi friends,

I'm playing with my Sweet Sunflowers Paper Pumpkin kit this week.  This is the kit that was shipped in August - it's no longer available, but if you have one I hope you'll enjoy seeing the alternatives I'm sharing!  Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription that comes directly to your mailbox for $22.50 USD plus tax.  Shipping is already included!

To create this alternative, I cut the original card base in half and cut the front side down to 3-3/4" x 5".  I mounted this on a mat of Blackberry Bliss, 4" x 5-1/4".  My card base is a standard A2 size cut from Crushed Curry cardstock.  I cut the back half of the original card base into 5/8" strips and used it for the "happy birthday" greeting (Happiness Abounds stamp set).  The ends are punched with the "Lovely Labels Pick a Punch" from Stampin' Up.  There's a 1/2" strip of Blackberry Bliss cardstock behind the greeting for more definition.  The sunflower sparkles with Wink of Stella on the petals and 3 gems in the center.

This one uses the outside edge of the gold honeycomb embellishments from the kit as a mat.  I cut the center out to save for other cards.

I hope you like these ideas!  Stay tuned for more to come.  If you want to get in on the Paper Pumpkin fun, I've included a link below to subscribe.  There's no long-term commitment; if you decide this isn't your cup of tea, you can cancel at any time.  You can also skip a month without cancelling your subscription!

Paper Dolls Mini Catalog Showcase - Part II

Welcome back for Part II of our Mini Catalog Team Swap!

This festive card was created by Marcie Derby using Sweet Candy Canes and Sweetest Christmas DSP.  Colors are Real Red, Pool Party & Garden Green.

Beth Daniels created this sparkling card using the Lights Aglow Suite with all the gold accents - Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Foil, Festive Gold Pearls, Gold & Vanilla
Satin Edged Ribbon & Delicata Gold Ink.

This is my card for the swap.  I used Trees for Sale and the Tree Lot Dies.  The trees are a two-step stamp, stamped first in Evening Evergreen, then in Versamark and embossed with White Embossing Powder.  You can read more about my card on this blog post.

Thanks for looking, I hope you found inspiration here today!
