Happy Harvest Blessings

Welcome to my blog!

I'm so happy that Fall is here...this is my season!  I love the warm days & cool nights, and the colors!  Oh my, those gold, orange & bronze colors make me happy.

Check out how I totally changed the look of my Magnolia Lane Designer Paper for the season -

The flowers on this paper are so easy to color.  I colored them with my Daffodil Delight (dark) Stampin' Blends and added some accent shading with Pumpkin Pie (light & dark).  The jewels are the new Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels from the holiday catalog (available September 4).

This is a fancy-fold Flip-Flop card, inspired by Ronda Wade.

Such a fun fold to make!  Easy, too.  Here are the dimensions:

Basic Black cs 4-1/4" x 11".  Score at 5-1/2" & trim 3" off one end.  Trim the 3" piece down to 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" and emboss with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.

Mango Melody cs 3-1/4" x 8-1/2".  Score at 4-1/4".  Magnolia Lane DSP 3" x 4".  Very Vanilla cs for inside of card 3" x 4".  Very Vanilla for the back of the card 4" x 5-1/4".

Attach the embossed piece using Tear & Tape Adhesive for good adhesion.

Beautiful Friendship Double-Z Fold

Hello again!  My new shipment of Stampin' Up goodies came this week and I couldn't wait to ink up the Beautiful Friendship stamp set.  The floral images have a watercolor look...just gorgeous!

I CASE'd this card from Lynn Dunn.  This beautiful hydrangea is stamped in Seaside Spray.

Here are the cuts you'll need to create this Double-Z Fold card:

Seaside Spray cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 2-1/8" & 4-1/4"
Seaside Spray cardstock 8-1/2" x 2-3/4", scored at 2-1/8" & 4-1/4"
Whisper White cardstock 4" x 2-1/2"
Whisper White cardstock 1-7/8" x 2-1/2"
Designer Paper 1-7/8" x 2-1/2", 4" x 5-1/4", 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" (2 pcs)

To assemble the card, first attach all the Designer Papers plus the stamped section and the white inside panel.  To attach the two sections together easily with perfect alignment, I kept both sections of the card flat and attached the inside section just on the left end using Tear & Tape Adhesive, and being careful not to extend the adhesive past the first score line.

After the left side is adhered, fold & crease both card sections on all the score lines.  Place Tear & Tape as shown on the right side of the smaller section and close the card to adhere it.  I hope this makes sense!

This one is made with Rococco Rose - which do you like better?

I embellished my card front with a strip of Polka Dot Tulle ribbon folded in half and adhered with a glue dot - a pearl hides the glue dot.  Some smaller pearls are dotted around the hydrangea to finish it off.

Summer Sampler

Welcome to my blog!  Today I'm sharing my Summer Sampler.  This project gives more love to some stamps and dies which have retired, but you could easily make substitutions.  The color combo pulls it all together!

Like I said, this color combo pulls everything together and screams Summer!  I've used Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Lovely Lipstick.  The sampler is built on 3 layers of cardstock - Whisper White, 9" square; Night of Navy, 8-1/2" square; and Pool Party, 8" square.  Each individual section is framed in Night of Navy.

Here's a closer look at each section in the sampler -

Night of Navy 4-3/4" x 2-1/4"; Whisper White 4-1/2" x 2".  The sun was sponged on first using a sticky note mask with a 1-1/8" circle punched out.  Sponge on Daffodil Delight and darken it at the top with Lovely Lipstick.  Remove mask, cover the sun with the punched out circle & lightly sponge more Daffodil Delight around the outside.  Lightly sponge Pool Party above the sun.  Stamp the mountains, water & sky using stamps from Waterfront.  The balloons are from Lift Me Up (retired), stamped in Lovely Lipstick & Granny Apple Green.

Night of Navy 2-1/4" square; Whisper White 2" square.  Everything in this section is stamped and die-cut from Beautiful Bouquet & the matching framelits.  The tag is tied on with a piece of linen thread.

Night of Navy 2-1/4" square; Pool Party 2" square.  I lightly sponged a bit of Daffodil Delight inside the jar then stamped the fireflies in Memento Black.  They are colored with light & dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends with brushed with Wink of Stella on their tails.  The jar lid was inked with Versamark & embossed in gold.  Stamp set is Jar of Love (retired).

Night of Navy 4-3/4" x 2-1/4", Whisper White 4-1/2" x 2".  I created a mask for the clouds with a sticky note & sponged around the mask with Pool Party, moving the mask 3 times to create 3 clouds.  The water is stamped using a Waterfront stamp in Pool Party and brushed with Wink of Stella for shimmer.  The sailboats are from Lilypad Lake, colored with Stampin' Blends.

Night of Navy 7-1/4" x 2-1/4".  Whisper White 7" x 2".  To create the background I sponged on clouds as with the sailboat section above.  For the letters I used a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock and using a sponge brayer, rolled some Mango Melody ink along the bottom edge.  Then I used the Large Letters Framelits (retired) to cut them & mounted each on a second letter cut from Night of Navy to create a shadow.  Five more fireflies (Jar of Love) are scattered throughout.

As I've used multiple retired products on this sampler, I'm submitting it to the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog, which is all about giving your old stamps some love!  Jar of Love and the Large Letters Framelits are from 2016 and Lift Me Up is a 2017 stamp set.

The frame is a 9" x 9" Belmont Shadow Box frame purchased from Michael's Crafts.  Everything else that is still available through Stampin' Up is listed below:
