Triangle Fold Card with Template

Welcome to my blog!  I have a fun Triangle Card to show you today.

I created this card with the Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #517 in mind -

The designer paper on my card is called Gilded Autumn.  Every sheet in the pack has beautiful foil accents!  I used Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder for the greeting and Gold Metallic Edge Ribbon to add even more shine.

The basics of the triangle card are super simple.  Starting with an 8-1/2" piece of cardstock, score on the short side at 4-1/4" and on the long side at 5-1/2".  Now cut diagonally from corner to corner.  That's all there is to it - now you have 2 card bases.  The designer paper for the card front is 4" x 5-1/4", also cut diagonally from corner to corner.

The sentiment (from the Country Home stamp set) is embossed in gold on Cajun Craze cardstock.  The scalloped layer is Early Espresso cardstock.

The ribbon is sandwiched between the two oval layers like this.  I used a piece of Scotch tape to hold the ribbon in place.  The Cajun Craze oval is adhered over this layer using Stampin' Dimensionals.
It's important that you attach the oval to just the top flap so your card will open properly.  To do this, I placed the oval on the card front (without attaching it yet) and laid a ruler along the center line of the card.
Without moving the ruler, I lifted it off the card front along with the oval and flipped them over together.  Using the edge of the ruler as a guide I can see exactly where to place the liquid glue so it contacts only the top flap of the card.

I hope you like this card.  It's a fun fold and a great way to use your favorite designer papers!

Beautiful Bouquet Anniversary Card

Hello again!  There's a gorgeous new colour challenge over at Just Add Ink that I couldn't resist playing along with this week.

These are colors that I probably wouldn't have considered using together on my own.  But that's what I love about colour challenges - they make me stretch my imagination and get creative!  After working with these colors I know that I'll use them again - they're rich and vibrant and perfect for fall.

I used my Stamparatus on this card to get perfect placement on the sentiment, and also to double stamp the flowers.  For each of the 4 large flowers I stamped them once in Grapefruit Grove, then used a sponge dauber to add some Terracotta Tile in the center of each flower and stamped them again.

The flowers on the inside of the card mimic the outside by using the double-stamping technique on the Stamparatus.

The trick to arranging the flowers...

Cut all the pieces & lay them out on the card front before adhering any of them.  Then snap a picture on your cell phone & refer to it as you start adding liquid glue to the backs and placing them.  Liquid glue gives you a little "wiggle-room" when you're doing your flower arranging!

I used Wink of Stella on the largest flower, copper foil accents and iridescent sequins for bling.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Happy Stamping!

Bird Ballad Suite

Hello crafty friends, welcome to my blog!  I'm having so much fun using all the goodies in Stampin' Up's Bird Ballad Suite. Today I'm using the laser-cut cards & trinkets along with the stamps & dies:

These laser-cut cards are so beautiful.  I added a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of So Saffron cardstock behind the delicate laser-cutting to make it "pop".  Just a thin line of liquid glue around the edges keeps it in place.

The birds are colored with Stampin' Blends and the sentiment is embossed.  All of the colors are shown in the product list at the end of this post.

Tip:

Don't forget to use the embossing buddy before stamping when you're using dark colored cardstock like this - it will keep the embossing powder from sticking where you don't want it!

I'm submitting this card to the Just Add Ink Challenge for this week.  These colors are gorgeous together!
