Introducing...Orchid Oasis!

We have five brand-new colors about to debut in my Stampin' Up! world on May 3.  Here's a little sneak peek at one of them - Orchid Oasis!

I bought this beautiful watercolor at a craft show recently.  The artist, Caren Gagne, had mounted it on an ivory card base.  I fell in love with her artwork, but I thought I could make it even better by changing it to a different card base.  I wish I had taken a photo of how it looked originally to illustrate what a difference the Orchid Oasis cardstock made.  Caren's artwork absolutely pops on this color!

For the inside I used images from an older set called Waterfront and stamped them in Orchid Oasis (stamped off once) and Pumpkin Pie.  The sailboat was stamped in black & die-cut.  After gluing it in place, I used Blender Pens with Orchid Oasis & Pumpkin Pie to color the white areas on the die-cut and make it blend nicely into the background.

Orchid Oasis will be available to purchase on May 3, along with 4 other fabulous new colors - Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide & Starry Sky!

Thanks for looking today!  Here are some of the products I used on this card that are currently available:

Blended Seasons Sneak Peek!

One card, three ways...

July is drawing to a close and I have exciting news about August!  Starting on Wednesday, August 1 there is a fantastic new stamp set with matching framelits that will be available, but only while supplies last!  As a demonstrator, I was able to order this early to play with and I'm loving the versatility of this bundle.

This is the first card I made using my new bundle.  It's clean & simple.  The leaves are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and I colored them using my Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake & Bronze Stampin' Blends.  The leaf embellishment is cut from Copper Foil.

The stamped panel is 3" x 4-1/4".  The black mat is 3-1/4" x 4-1/2".  The white behind the black mat is 4" x 5-1/4".  The card base is cut from Crumb Cake.

On my second card, I stepped it up a bit by embossing the leaves with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I love this embossed look, but the big advantage with embossing is how much easier it makes the images to color.  Whether you prefer coloring with Blends, Markers or Watercolor Pencils, the embossing forms a small ridge that keeps the color from bleeding outside the lines.

For my third card, I stepped it up even more by using one of the 3 beautiful framelits included in this set.  These leaves are colored with Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie & Cherry Cobbler Blends.

These framelits are unlike any others that Stampin' Up sells.  As you can see here, each framelit has stitching on the inside & outside of the shape!

These are some of the samples the Stampin' Up Design Team has created.  This bundle has something for every season!

Oh, So Eclectic

Hi Stampers,

I have two grown sons who live on opposite ends of the country from their dear old mom, so I send a lot of cards to them.  Today I'm sharing one that I created using something totally new to me - embossing paste!

I've had the embossing paste & tools in my craft room for a few weeks now...I have to admit that I was feeling a little intimidated about using them.  I shouldn't have been...it's so easy!  And I love the results.  The diamond pattern on the background of this card is one of 4 designs you get in the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.

The stamps and die-cuts are from the Oh So Eclectic Bundle.  The colors are Early Espresso (card base), Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, & Whisper White.  The sentiment on the banner is stamped in Versamark & heat embossed using White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  All of the die-cut pieces are adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue except for the largest Pool Party flower, which is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Three little sprigs of foliage cut from Gold Glimmer Paper make this card sparkle!  I don't usually make floral card designs for the men in my life, but I think these colors make this card work for the guys or gals!

I did some stamping on the inside but left space to write a mushy little love note from mom.  :)

I'm sending a book along with the card, so I made a matching bookmark.  "Love You" is part of the Bloomin' Love stamp set.  The bookmark is made from Thick Whisper White so it's nice & sturdy, and punched with the Tag Topper Punch.  The ribbon is Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.

I love the watercolor look in the Oh So Eclectic stamp set.  I'll be using this bundle a lot - there are so many different ways to combine the stamps & die-cuts!
