Spring Sampler

Hi friends, welcome to my blog!  This sampler is a celebration of Spring, designed by Laura Malanowski, one of my talented team members.  Many thanks to Laura for allowing me to share it!

Isn't that gorgeous?  Such beautiful soft colors give her sampler a springtime feeling.  Some of the stamps used to create it are retired and getting some more love!  Others are new and quickly becoming old favorites.

Laura designed her sampler to fit a 9" x 9" shadow box frame purchased from Michael's Crafts.  The first layer is a 9" square of Basic Black; the second layer is an 8-1/2" square of Balmy Blue; the third layer is an 8" square of Crumb Cake.

Bunny section...

The bunny from Fable Friends is colored with Crumb Cake & Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends & fussy-cut.
Mint Macaron - 2-1/4" square; Soft Suede - 2" square; Crumb Cake - 1-7/8" square embossed using Subtle Embossing Folder
Whisper White circle cut from Stitched Shapes Dies

Bird section...

Free as a Bird Stamp set colored with Stampin' Blends in Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral & Old Olive.  The shimmer on the birds comes from Clear Wink of Stella.  The background behind the birds has sponged clouds - so pretty!
Mint Macaron - 4-3/4" x 2-1/4"; Soft Suede - 4-1/2" x 2"; Whisper White 4-3/8" x 1-7/8"

Floral section...

This section uses Jar of Love.  The flowers are 2-step stamps in Calypso Coral, Pacific Point & Mint Macaron.  The first layer of each flower was stamped off once and the second layer was stamped full-strength.
Mint Macaron - 2-1/4" square; Soft Suede - 2" square; Crumb Cake - 1-7/8" square embossed using Subtle Embossing Folder

Bicycle section...

This section was created with the Bike Ride stamp set using Calypso Coral, Pacific Point & Crumb Cake.  The flowers in the basket are stamped with Crushed Curry.
Mint Macaron - 4-3/4" x 2-1/4", Soft Suede - 4-1/2" x 2"

Spring section...

The letters are cut from Balmy Blue gingham designer paper & shadowed with Balmy Blue cardstock.  The dies used are the Large Letters Framelits.
Mint Macaron - 7-1/4" x 2-1/4", Soft Suede - 7" x 2"

Wink of Stella is used liberally throughout the Sampler along with Basic Rhinestone Jewels.  The butterflies are punched from (retired) Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.

This sampler is the second in a series of the Four Seasons.  You can see the Fall Sampler here.  Keep checking back often to see the Summer Sampler, coming soon!

These are the available products used on this sampler.  Jar of Love, Bike Ride & the Large Letters Framelits are retired.  Click any of the links to learn more...

A Sunny Hello with Large Letters Framelits

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Today I have a card that's eye-catching, yet easy to create.  It's a friendly "Hello" created with Painted Harvest & the Large Letters Framelits.

The letters are cut from Pineapple Punch cardstock with Mango Melody ink rolled along the bottom using a Sponge Brayer.  I applied the Mango Melody ink before cutting the letters.  The shadow is a second set of letters cut from Soft Suede cardstock and adhered slightly offset from the yellow letters.  I used liquid glue for this so I'd have "wiggle-room" to get them just right.

Isn't that sunflower gorgeous?!  I stamped the outer layer with Pineapple Punch, the second layer with Mango Melody and the center with Soft Suede.  The dots are stamped in Granny Apple Green.

I used the Envelope Punch Board to create an envelope to fit my card.  By using double-sided designer papers, the envelope is as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside!

Here are the dimensions to re-create this card:

Thick Whisper White cs 7" x 8", score the short side @ 3-1/2"
Soft Suede cs 3-1/4" x 7-3/4"
Whisper White cs 3" x 7-1/2"

Designer Paper for Envelope - 9-1/4" x 9-1/4", line up edge @ 2-7/8"

A Few of My Favorite Things

I'm excited about all of the great new stamps & dies available in the new catalog, but a little sad that some of my old favorites won't be available anymore.  Today I'm sharing a few of my faves from the years that I've been writing this blog.

Large Letters Framelits

These are indispensable for personalizing cards and home decor projects.  A little pricey, but there's nothing else like them to add a special touch.  I love them for samplers and scrapbook albums.  Add them to your collection before they're gone - you won't regret it!

Lift Me Up Stamp Set & Up and Away Thinlits

I've given these a lot of love since they were introduced!  I love that big, multicolored balloon.  Plus, they are one of my go-to stamp sets for guy cards.

Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set & Eclectic Layers Thinlits

This is another set that I reach for over & over.  The watercolor images are just gorgeous in any color, and perfect for so many occasions.  This set would be a  great addition for your collection!

And  finally, Lovely as a Tree...

This is the stamp set that started it all (for me, anyway).  Part of the Stampin' Up offering longer than any other stamp set, it's finally retiring.  This was my very first Stampin' Up purchase that happily led to many more.  The simple, classic images make wonderful backgrounds, or they can be the star of the show - it's up to you & your vision!

These are just a few of my favorite retiring items.  You can find the complete list of all retiring items by going to my online store - just click the button below.  As always, thanks for stopping by!
