Let's Build a Bike!

Welcome to my blog!  My card for today is clean & simple with a springtime flair:

The stamp set is called Bike Ride and the Framelits are "Build a Bike".  It's a perfect name, because you literally can build a bike!  Here are the pieces before they're assembled:

I used liquid glue to assemble the pieces on my Silicone Craft Sheet.  The flowers are colored with Stampin' Blends.

The fun is in the details...

The streamers on the handlebars are cut from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  The frame, wheels and basket are embossed with white on Mint Macaron cardstock.  Three rhinestone jewels add some more sparkle.

I'm thinking that a stack of these in a rainbow of colors would make a lovely gift!

Bike Ride & the matching Build a Bike Framelits are being discontinued on June 3 (or sooner, if supplies are depleted).  Order yours today!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Beautiful!

I love how using embossing folders can give dimension to your projects.  This card uses minimal stamping but gets its "wow" factor from embossing & punches.

The Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder coupled with soft colors of Petal Pink, So Saffron, Grapefruit Grove, Soft Seafoam & Pear Pizzazz is so feminine!

Did you know?

Embossed cardstock should always be adhered using strong, double-sided tape adhesive (Tear & Tape).  Because there is less surface area on the embossed cardstock, Snail will not hold embossed pieces together well.

Tips for re-creating this card:

Adhere the 3 circles together and add the leaves & sprigs behind them.  Then attach these pieces to the card front as a single unit using Tear & Tape.  Be sure to use Tear & Tape across the stems of the leaves to keep them in place.  The sequins are adhered with glue dots.

I embossed the envelope flap to coordinate with the card.  I love this look!  Once again, you will need to use Tear & Tape on the envelope flap to seal it.

A note about the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

I use these dies more than any of the others in my collection.  Although they are currently listed as discontinued and unavailable, they will be available again when the new catalog comes out in June!  The ordering number 145372 will be the same, and the new name is simply Stitched Shapes.

A new catalog is coming on June 4!  Many stamp sets are being retired to make room for new ones, so it's time to take a look at the catalog again & make sure you don't miss out on any of your favorites.

Here are the lists of products retiring from both the Annual Catalog & the Occasions Catalog, plus a list of stamp sets that are carrying over into the new catalog.  It's important to note that the carryover stamps are listed on the retiring lists only because they will be in a new format in the future (cling only, no more clear or wood mount).  These sets are shown on the retiring lists with an asterisk (*) next to them.

Butterfly Gala & Gingham

I'm hooked on the gorgeous colors in the new Gingham Designer Series Paper - Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Lemon-Lime Twist, Balmy Blue & Highland Heather.  Such beautiful springtime hues!  I've been creating butterflies with these colors for days...

These cards are so much fun to make!  I used sponge daubers to add color to Whisper White cardstock scraps.  The color combinations are so beautiful...

By sponging the color onto the cardstock before stamping the butterflies, the black ink stays bright and sharp.

A bowl of butterflies ready to add to cards!

The designer paper on each card is 2-1/2" x 5-1/2".

I used the sentiment from Humming Along to stamp a stack of Get Well cards.  I never seem to have these on hand when I need them - problem solved!

The Gingham Gala sequins are self-adhesive.  Love this idea!

Did you know?

Adding embellishments like sequins in odd-numbered groupings (3,5 or 7) is more visually interesting than using even-numbered groupings.

The Gingham Designer Series Paper is going to make beautiful Easter cards.  I have so many ideas for these papers!
