Masculine Birthday Card - A Good Man

Hi stampers, welcome to my blog!  Let's face it, masculine cards can be blah....muted colors and a definite lack of glitter, lol.  This fun Joy Fold jazzes this card up just enough:

This card opens to the right & left with plenty of room to write your personal message...

The Soft Suede cardstock is cut 8-1/2 x 5-1/2", scored on the long side at 2-1/8" & 4-1/4".  The smaller inside is cut from Mossy Meadow cardstock, 4-3/4" x 3-3/4".  Score the long side at 2-3/8".  The designer papers are cut at 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" (2 pieces) and 4" x 5-1/4" (1 piece).  The 2 Terracotta Tile pieces are cut from the same piece of 6" x 6" DSP - the smaller piece is the flip side of the larger piece.

The relaxing guy is so easy to color with Bronze, Ivory, Light Cajun Craze & Light Mossy Meadow.  I always add some Light Pool Party or Light Smoky Slate to ground images like this.  The stitching on the rectangles and circles adds so much interest to this card!

The circle on the card front has a purpose...when the corner of the relaxing guy is tucked under it, the card stays closed.  It's attached with 3 Stampin' Dimensionals.

Did you know...

If your stitched shapes tend to stick when you cut them, a piece of waxed paper placed between the die and the cardstock before cutting will make them pop out of the die effortlessly.  A pair of good tweezers will pull the waxed paper off the cardstock easily.
