Country Home - Textured

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a good weekend that included a little time for crafting.  It rained at our house all day Saturday and Sunday,  so I had a lot of time for crafting with my new favorite stamp set.

These were all created with Country Home.  Such a gorgeous stamp set!

This is a great color combination for Fall - Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze & Basic Black.

The image was colored with my Stampin' Blends - Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate & Daffodil Delight (dark).

This card has a lot of texture.  I used 2 different embossing folders here - the Cajun Craze background is embossed with the Tin Tile embossing folder and the Basic Black strip uses the Corrugated embossing folder.  I don't usually mix 2 patterns this way, but the Corrugated folder is so clean and simple that it just works.  The chicken wire element adds even more interest and the strip of Crushed Curry designer paper brightens everything up.

The sentiment inside my card was stamped in Cajun Craze.  Then I inked one of the floral images,  stamped it off once & overlaid it on the sentiment.

This version uses the Tin Tile Dynamic Expressions Embossing Folder also, but I antiqued it by sponging some Crumb Cake ink over the embossing.  The bow is made from Braided Linen Trim.

This one has a simple, clean look.  The checked pattern was stamped using the Buffalo Check background stamp.  I trimmed it 2" x 5-1/2" and mounted it on a strip of Rich Razzleberry cardstock, 2-1/4" x 5-1/2".  The sentiment is stamped on a 1" piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The image is fussy-cut and mounted with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

If you place an order from me in September, you may see one of these in your mailbox!  I appreciate each and every one of my customers - you truly are the happy to my day.

Country Lane

We've rounded the corner from Summer to Fall and it's put me in the mood for cards that reflect the change of seasons.  Gone are the sunny yellows & pinks, replaced with rich, warm shades of rust & gold.  I've been having a great time creating Fall cards using my new shipment of holiday catalog goodies!

The Country Lane Suite has so many fun elements to it!  On this card I used the Country Home stamp set, the matching designer paper, and the chicken wire elements.  The black & white background was created with the Buffalo Check background stamp.

I colored the images with my Stampin' Blends using Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Daffodil Delight (dark).  In this photo the card is sitting on the envelope I stamped using one of the elements from the stamp set.  It's a single stamp, repeated across the bottom edge of the envelope.  As the stamp set is clear photopolymer, it's really easy to stamp in a straight line.

The chicken wire elements have a shiny silver side and a white side.  Either side is beautiful and adds a lot of interest to your projects.  I just happen to be a sparkle & shine gal!

Mad for Plaid

I'm a big fan of background stamps and anything with a rustic or country feel to it, so this Buffalo Check stamp is one of my top picks from the 2018 Holiday Catalog.  The possibilities for color combinations using this are endless, and a plaid background works on any card without overwhelming the main image!

Here I've used Blushing Bride on the sentiment and the #2 stamp for the bear's bow.  The card base, checks and #1 bow stamp are Powder Pink.

Baby Bear is a multiple-image stamp.  There are 3 layers to the bear, which are numbered in the stamp set.  The Stamparatus makes lining up the images so easy!  I stamped the images from dark to light (#3 Soft Suede, #2 Crumb Cake, #1 Sahara Sand).

The bow is stamped in the same manner.  #2 - Blushing Bride, #1 - Powder Pink.  The image is 3-1/4" x 3-1/4".  It's mounted on a 3-1/2" square of Crumb Cake.

"Thank You from all of us" is a single stamp from One Big Meaning (retired). You can get multiple colors on a single stamp by inking it with Stampin' Write markers in place of an ink pad.

I've never been happy with the results from this technique because my stamped images always seemed a bit light & "washed-out".  The Stamparatus is a game-changer in that it allows you to color the image multiple times and stamp it until you are happy with the look.  Tip:  start with the lightest color (Blushing Bride).  Even if you go beyond where you intended, the darker color will cover it - look closely below the "H" in the photo above.

The sentiment is trimmed to 1" wide and flagged on one end with the Triple Banner Punch.

The Buffalo Check background stamp is a great addition to my craft stash.  My top 3 favorite background stamps are Hardwood, Burlap & Buffalo Check, not necessarily in that order!  You can order your own starting September 5, along with all of the other beautiful new products in the 2018 Holiday Catalog.
