First Christmas Card

Our team of Paper Dolls has a card swap with every new Stampin' Up! catalog that's released. That's all the inspiration I need to get started on my Christmas cards!

This is my card for our swap. I used the "Trees for Sale" stamp set and the Tree Lot Dies. The trees are fun, they're a 2-step stamp. I stamped the solid layer in Evening Evergreen. Then I stamped the second layer in Versamark and used white embossing powder with my heat gun to create snow on the branches.

This feels so very vintage to me. The font, simple images and the whimsical little pup are so sweet.

The Tree Lot Dies have a lot more pieces than I've used on this card, including an adorable camper die. They were free with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-Bration. Since I started writing this blog post, they have sold out and are no longer available. So sad! I hope you were one of the lucky ones who snapped them up early!

Hippest Hippos Birthday Card

I'm making a birthday card for a very special four-year-old today. This is the Hippest Hippos stamp set and the coordinating Hippo Dies. The images are so fun to use! This card makes me smile every time I look at it!

Obviously, for a 4-year old girl, this card needed a lot of bling. She takes after her Grammy, lol! This is my first time using Snowflake Specialty Vellum (it's not just for Christmas!), and I love it. It's holographic, and best of all, the adhesive you use doesn't show through. I also used some Wink of Stella on the tutus. "Happy Birthday" is from the Timeless Tulips stamp set (retired) and there's a piece of retired white/black polka dot DSP behind that's 3/4" x 8-1/2".

Even though coloring isn't my thing, these were easy images to color with Stampin' Blends and I'll be making more hippo cards.

This slimline card fits perfectly in our Slimline Envelopes. The card base is made from Thick Basic White cardstock, 8-1/2" x 7", scored at 3-1/2".

Blue Whimsy

Hi friends,

The leaves are starting to turn here in northern Ohio and today is gorgeous! I'm baking an apple cake as I write this and the house smells SOOOO Good...it hardly seems right to be blogging about a Christmas card, but here goes anyway. Forgive me!

I got some new embossing folders this week and I especially like this one...it comes in a set of two:

#155433 Wintery 3D Embossing Folders

The card base is Misty Moonlight. The embossing is separated from the beautiful blue by a 1/4" strip of Be Dazzling Specialty Paper. The trio of trees (try saying that 3 times fast!) is mounted on a 2-3/4" circle cut from one of the patterns in the Whimsy & Wonder DSP pack. The trees are die-cut from Silver Foil, Be Dazzling DSP and Blushing Bride cardstock.
