Flower Pot Card - Let's Learn a New Fun Fold!

I've had this flower pot card in the back of my mind for a while now and having a stack of these beautiful flowers on my desk got me motivated!  These are die-cut from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  If you love to fussy-cut, you could skip the dies and snip them out, too!  Bonus, this card works beautifully for the Paper Players Challenge PP593.  I'm using Die-Cuts, Floral and Ribbons.

I'm also sharing this with the talented designers at Festive Friday for National Best Friends Day FF110, using Feminine, Pink, & Ribbon.

This design was inspired by Tami White, with modifications.

The inside is lovely too, with lots of room to write your own message.

These are the pieces you'll need to make this card:

Blushing Bride 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", scored at 2-3/4"

Melon Mambo 2-1/2" x 4" (cut 2) and 1" x 4-1/4" (cut 1)

Basic White 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" (cut 2) and 1" x 4-1/4" (cut 1)

Melon Mambo 3-3/4" x 4", trim the short side from the corner to 3/4" in as shown

Basic White 3-3/4" x 4", trim the short side from the corner to 3/4" in as shown

scrap of Basic White to cut a "for you" tag

Flowers & leaves from Hues of Happiness Designer Paper

The first step is to fold the Blushing Bride cs in half and layer these pieces to the front.

Next, stamp the sentiment and layer these pieces on the inside.

To create the flower pot, attach the Melon Mambo piece to the front of the card as seen here.  The overall length of the card should be 5-1/2" to fit into a standard A2 envelope.  Grid paper is essential for this step!

The 1" x 4-1/4" strip finishes off the top of the pot.

The back of the card is created the same as the front, only there's no need to measure...just adhere the white flower pot piece directly behind the Melon Mambo pot on the front.

The smaller flowers and leaves are attached with liquid glue as shown in the photo; the 2 large flowers are attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Three Glossy Dots add beautiful bling!  All that's left is to tie the ribbon in a knot & add the tag.  My tag is cut with Hydrangea Dies and the "for you" is from the coordinating Hydrangea Haven stamp set.
