Sharing a simple card today, made with the beautiful Hues of Happiness Designer Paper. The butterfly is cut out of the white card front to let the gorgeous floral pattern show through!
Here's how it's done:
Cut a card base from Basic White Thick cardstock 4-1/4" x 11". Score at 5-1/2". This is a top-fold card.
Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock 3-3/8" x 5-1/2". Using the largest of the Brilliant Wings Dies, cut the butterfly partially off the edge of the cardstock as shown in the photo.
Emboss with the Greenery Embossing Folder (retired).
Cut a piece of Hues of Happiness DSP 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and adhere to the card front.
Adhere the embossed piece on top of the patterned paper, lining up the top, bottom & right edges. Be sure to use adhesive all around the edges of the cut-out so it won't lift up.
Stamp "happy birthday" in Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock. Emboss with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and fussy-cut. Adhere to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
That's it!
One of my favorite ways to decorate my envelopes is to adhere a piece of matching patterned paper to the flap. It's quick and simple - go all around the edges of the envelope flap with liquid glue & place it on the paper, lining up the fold with the straight edge of the paper. Let dry a few minutes then trim around the flap with scissors. I find that long-bladed scissors work better for this than paper snips.
