My Favorite Colors for Spring

Hi Friends,

Spring has finally arrived.  After the long, gray days of winter I'm in the mood for bright, cheerful colors!  Our Ramblin' Stamper team card swap for April was a color challenge - we used Lemon-Lime Twist, Pool Party & Bermuda Bay, my all-time favorite colors.

Painted Harvest & So Many Shells are the stamp sets.  The stamped panel measures 3" x 4-1/4".  The Pool Party mat behind it is 1/4" larger, 3-1/4" x 4-1/2".

I made the stamped panel smaller than normal so I could feature the beautiful embossed panel behind it.  The Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (whew-that's a mouthful!) was a Sale-a-Bration reward item that's carrying over to the new catalog coming on June 1!  You'll want to add this one to your wishlist.

I made several of these, some of them with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder.  Which is your favorite?

TIP:  When using any of the Dynamic Embossing Folders, spritz your cardstock lightly with water before placing it in the folder.  All that's needed is a light mist.  These folders create such a deep, textured impression that your cardstock may show some cracking if you skip this step.  Softening the fibers in the cardstock will allow it to bend and stretch without any cracking.

TIP #2:  When adhering anything to a piece of embossed cardstock, always use a strong double-sided tape like Tear & Tape.  Snail will not hold these textured pieces together very well - the texture doesn't provide enough surface area for Snail to grip.  There's nothing worse than creating a beautiful card only to have it fall apart when the recipient opens it!
