Varied Vases & Beautiful Bouquet for Global Design Project

Hello Everyone,

I'm playing along with the Global Design Project 142 Sketch Challenge this week.  Here's my entry:

And here's the sketch this challenge is based on:

My card uses 3 colors, Powder Pink, Melon Mambo & Gold.  I'm not gonna kid you, there's a lot going on here in addition to the stamping!  Embossing paste, heat embossing, die-cutting & fussy-cutting.  I started out to make a card using the simple & elegant Varied Vases stamp set & may have gotten a bit carried away :).  The larger flowers are from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, stamped in Powder Pink and Melon Mambo (full strength & stamped off once).  The gold embossed centers make them pop, don't you think?

The flowers in the vase are stamped with Memento Black & Powder Pink.  I used a Melon Mambo Stampin' Write marker to add a second color to the centers.  They are then fussy-cut & popped up with Mini-Dimensionals.  The Powder Pink on the bottom of the card is cut at a slight angle, 1-3/4" on the left side and 1-1/2" on the right side.

Did you know?

When you stamp a color and want to emboss on top of it like I've done in the center of these flowers, it's absolutely essential to rub an Embossing Buddy over the stamped image before using Versamark and embossing powder.  If you forget this step, the powder will stick in all the places you don't want it.

Thanks for visiting today!
