Up, Up & Away!

Hi Stampers,

I spent some time this week playing with another of my favorites from the new Occasions Catalog, the Lift Me Up Bundle.  This set includes 16 rubber stamps and 15 Thinlits dies.  There are six different sentiments included in the stamp set, which I love.  You can never have enough sentiments to choose from, in my humble opinion!

Yup, I had a lot of fun with these.  I can see myself using this bundle a lot!

As Valentine's Day is fast approaching, I started by creating this card.  I think this could work beautifully to celebrate an engagement, bridal shower or wedding, also! The colors are Blushing Bride,  Smoky Slate and Watermelon Wonder.

How about this one?  The Designer Paper is a free Sale-a-Bration item that was designed specifically to coordinate with the Lift Me Up Bundle.  It's called Carried Away Designer Series Paper, Item number 143608.  The paper pack has 12 double-sided sheets in Mint Macaron, Night of Navy, Peekaboo Peach, Smoky Slate, Watermelon Wonder, & Whisper White.  By building a card around the colors in the DSP, it's easy-peasy to choose colors that coordinate beautifully!  The rhinestones really make the balloon pop, too.

It's hard to pick a favorite of all the cards I made this week, but if I had to this might be the one.  The little mountain scene on the DSP is so darn cute!  Each of the colors on the balloon is a separate die-cut piece that fits perfectly behind the detailed thinlit.  They are not as fussy to assemble as you might think, either - I simply laid out the pieces in order on my Silicone Craft Sheet, then added Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the detailed white thinlit using a Stampin' Sponge.  Then I laid the thinlit on top of the colors and gently pressed down - it lines up perfectly and you can then lift it up as one piece!

This one really shows off the Designer Paper.  The oval is cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  All three of the balloons are stamped in Night of Navy, one on Whisper White, one on Watermelon Wonder and one on Peekaboo Peach.  The "thank you" came from Thoughtful Banners and the "friend" is from Endless Thanks.

This one is similar to the last, the main difference is that the clouds are cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper - I wish you could see how they sparkle and catch the light!

On this card I opted to change up the colors a little because I wasn't using any Designer Paper with this design.  I still used Night of Navy, but added Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight.  The clouds are again cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  Something else different on this one, I used the cloud thinlits to cut 2 shapes on the card front, letting the Marina Mist mat show through the face of the card.

This is the one we will be making in my next class on February 9th - if you're near Bonita Springs, FL on that day, send me a message - I'd love to have you join us!  We'll be mixing and matching cardstock and DSP on this one so if you don't care for this particular color combo, no worries!  It's your choice!

Last but not least, I wanted to try a watercolor background.  This is a wash of Soft Sky on Shimmery White, using my Aqua Painter and Soft Sky re-inker.  I cut the clouds from Shimmery White and ran them through the Big Shot using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.  The balloon is stamped in Archival Black on Melon Mambo cardstock, and the card base is Soft Sky.  A twist of Silver Metallic Thread adds some bling!

I hope you're inspired to add the Lift Me Up Bundle to your craft stash.  If you purchase the stamp set & thinlits together as a bundle, you save 10%.  And right now during Sale-A-Bration, the deals are even more awesome - buy the bundle in wood-mount for $53.00 and you qualify to get the Carried Away Designer Series Paper for FREE!  How great is that?  Remember, during Sale-A-Bration every purchase of $50 qualifies you to receive a free item of your choice from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  Contact me today if I can help you in any way!
