More Carols of Christmas Inspiration & a Sweet Treat!

Hi Stampers,

This is one of the cards we made last week at my all-Christmas stamping class.

I love using striped designer paper, it's so striking as a background. This one is from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper. The colors are Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White & Old Olive.

Our class was at 10:00 in the morning and stamping is hard work, so I made some of my favorite muffins to keep everyone's strength up :) Here's the recipe for my Cappuccino Muffins with Espresso Cream Cheese Spread:

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup sugar

2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup milk

2 tablespoons instant coffee granules

1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

3/4 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon & salt. In another bowl, stir milk & coffee granules until the coffee is dissolved. Add butter, egg & vanilla; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 375℉ for 17-20 minutes or until muffins test done. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan.

Espresso Cream Cheese Spread:

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon instant coffee granules

1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix all together until creamy. Cover & refrigerate until serving. Makes about one cup.

"Deck the Halls" is stamped in Versamark ink & embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. The gold sequins are a 4" piece of sequin trim folded in half and attached to the back of the die-cut oval using a glue dot.

A drop of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a dash of gold Stampin' Glitter adds sparkle to the center of the poinsettias, which are attached using one of the new Mini-Dimensionals. They are the perfect size for attaching small pieces like this. I'm so impressed with them that I'm sending out a free sample as a thank you to everyone who orders from me in August!

Deck the Halls

Hi Stampers,

Today I have another project to share using Carols of Christmas!

I'm having so much fun with this bundle. The designer paper I used is all from the Be Merry Designer Series Paper found in the annual catalog. Here's the recipe for this card:

Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the base, 11" x 4-1/4" and scored at 5-1/2".
White patterned DSP 4" x 5-1/4"
Cherry Cobbler patterned DSP 2" x 5-1/4" flagged on the right end using the Triple Banner Punch
Basic Black 4-1/4" x 3"
Striped DSP 1" x 2-3/4"
Whisper White 2-7/8" x 2-3/4"
Scraps of Whisper White for stamping poinsettias & leaves

Deck the Halls is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. The poinsettias are also Cherry Cobbler, and the leaves are Garden Green. The bundle includes dies to cut the leaves & poinsettias - no fussy cutting here!

To keep track of those small die-cut pieces, I like to stick them right onto my roll of Glue Dots - no more searching all over the floor and table for them, plus they're ready to peel off the roll and stick on my project.

A dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue with a sprinkle of gold glitter is all that's needed to make this card sparkle!

Say Hello to Carols of Christmas - and a Freebie, too!

I've been playing with this bundle and I'm amazed at its versatility. I think it's destined to be a favorite! Here is the first of many projects using Carols of Christmas that I'll be sharing all this month:

Stunning, isn't it? Stampin' Up hit it out of the park with this set. The colors here are Whisper White, Real Red & Old Olive. The card base is constructed of Thick Whisper White. The card front is a piece of regular weight Whisper White cut at 4" x 5-1/4". Behind it is a piece of Red Foil Sheet cut to the same size. After I made this, I realized that the Red Foil Sheets are retired (bummer!) but Silver, Copper or Gold would be beautiful, too. The border is cut using one of the dies in the Card Front Builder Thinlits, letting the foil shine through. It's gorgeous!

The focal point of this stamp set is the big, bold sentiment. Here I've stamped it using Real Red. It embosses beautifully, too - I'll show another example using heat embossing later this month. I stamped it a second time on a piece of scrap cardstock in Old Olive and closely trimmed "the", then adhered it using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I die-cut the sentiment and the scalloped square behind it using the Layered Squares Framelits.

The ornaments are 2 separate stamps (3 ornament images on each stamp). I stamped them first on the card front using Basic Gray. Then I stamped them on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock in Real Red & Old Olive and die-cut them. There are 2 dies, one for each stamp, so I was able to cut all 6 ornaments on one pass through the Big Shot! Each ornament is adorned with a rhinestone and popped-up with one of our new Mini Dimensionals.
