Back to School

It's that time of year.  Most kids are back to school and moms everywhere are breathing a sigh of relief.  Unless, of course, you are a teacher - then it's hats off to you!  Keeping with the spirit of things, I'm playing along with the Global Design Project Theme Challenge this week - School Days - #GDP155.

This card gave me a chance to use two stamp sets I've had for a while but not inked up - Crafting Forever & Sunny Days.  I was going for a chalkboard look here by embossing the sentiment in white on a black background (2-7/8" x 4").

September 17 Update - this card was chosen as a Global Design Project Special Mention.  Doing my Happy Dance!

Here are the details:

The card base is made from Blackberry Bliss.  The mat is Crumb Cake, stamped using the Hardwood background stamp and Crumb Cake ink.  The pot of brushes and scissors are colored with Stampin' Blends and fussy-cut.  The leaf (Colorful Seasons) is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink on Crushed Curry cardstock.  There is a matching die-cut for the leaf - check the product list at the end of this post.  The bow is Braided Linen Trim which I frayed at both ends by gently pulling it apart.  The brushes and leaf are adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I think this card would be perfect for your favorite teacher, student, or new Stampin' Up demonstrator!
