Peaceful Place Spanner Card

 Q.  What's Black & White & Read (Red) all over?  I'm really dating myself with this old joke from my childhood!  Not a newspaper, but this beautiful card made with Peaceful Place Designer Paper and my favorite vintage snowman stamp.

This is one of my favorite fun fold cards, the Spanner Card.

How fun is that?  These cards are so easy and fun to create.  Here's the recipe-

Card base - Basic Gray, 8-1/2" by 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4".  On the card front, use your Paper Trimmer to cut up to the fold, 1-1/4" from both the left and right edges.

You'll need 4 pieces of Designer Paper 1" x 4", 2 for the card front and 2 for the inside.

The Designer Paper with the silver foil trees is 2-3/4" x 4".

The snowbank is cut from Basic White Thick cardstock using a retired die that I had.  If you don't have a die you could easily cut this with sharp scissors.  It's about 1'1/2" high on the left side and 1" on the right side.

The snowman is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Basic White Thick cardstock and colored with Real Red Stampin' Blends.  It doesn't show in this photo, but he's all sparkly with Wink of Stella glitter and mounted on Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Basic White panel on the inside of the card is 2-7/8" x 4".

All three of the sentiments are stamped in Real Red.  The one on the card front came from my October 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit.  The small sentiment on the second layer (I call that one the secret sentiment) is from a retired stamp set called Wrapped in Christmas.  The inside sentiment is from Evergreen Elegance.

Pro Tip:

Use multipurpose liquid glue to adhere the designer paper pieces.  You'll want a little wiggle room to get them spaced out just right!

A Fun Fold Card That's Easy to Learn

This is called a Side Fold Card and it's simple to create.  The card base is Soft Succulent 11" x 4-1/4".  Score on the long side at 5-1/2" & 6-3/4".  The narrow section gets glued together so you're left with what's basically a square card design that fits into a standard envelope!

I CASE'd (Copy And Selectively Edit) this card from Mary Deatherage.  She used some different colors, vellum, twine & ribbon (which I don't get along with very well, lol).  But the basic design is the same!

The rich red color is Cherry Cobbler.  The leaf sprigs are stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Evening Evergreen.  The pine cones are a 2-step stamp, the first layer is Crumb Cake ink on the same color cardstock; the second layer is Early Espresso.  All the stamps, dies and papers on this card are from the Painted Christmas Suite; the embossing is done with the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder.

Here are the supplies used to make this card:

Peaceful Christmas Paper Pumpkin - Alternative Ideas Part II

Here are some more alternative ideas for the fabulous Peaceful Christmas Paper Pumpkin kit:

Added a garland cut with Stampin' Up Christmas Tree Dies!

Added a gold foil mat & deer die-cut (Detailed Deer Dies, retired)

Added embossing created with Stampin' Up Wintry 3D Embossing Folder plus one of the Wonderful Snowflakes (#156340).

Snowflake background and sentiment are embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Cut the row of trees with the Evergreen Border Punch.  I used Snowy White Velvet Sheets for a little added texture.

Sentiment is embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on a Basic Gray oval.  Deer (Detailed Deer Dies, retired) are embossed with Shimmer White Stampin' Emboss Powder (retired color).

Added a Basic Black mat & oval to coordinate with the plaid, plus some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Hope you've enjoyed these ideas!
