Timeless Tulips for Mother's Day

Hi Friends,

Mother's Day is Sunday, May 10.  There's plenty of time left to create this beautiful card for any of the special moms in your life!

Timeless Tulips is a Distinktive stamp set - it has a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step, creating photo-realistic images.

The card base is created with Thick Whisper White cardstock, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4".  Cut 2 designer paper strips of Highland Heather 5-1/2" x 3/4" from the Subtles 6 x 6 DSP collection.  Adhere them to the card base, aligning with the left & right edges of the card.

Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5-1/2" x 3-1/2".  I used regular weight Whisper White, but if you only have Thick Whisper White, that's fine too!  Using Pear Pizzazz ink, stamp 6 stems and 3 leaves.  Stamp 3 small tulips in Highland Heather at the top of 3 of the stems.  Adhere this piece to the card front using Snail adhesive.

The Timeless Tulips stamp set has a lot of useful sentiments - like this one!  

On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamp 3 of the large tulips, one each in Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape & Daffodil Delight, plus 3 leaves in Pear Pizzazz.  Punch them all out with the Tulip Builder Punch.  Adhere the tulips with Stampin' Dimensionals and the leaves with Multi-purpose liquid glue.

Stamp Happy Mother's Day in Gorgeous Grape and cut with a Layering Ovals die or an appropriately sized oval punch.  Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Tie a bow from Linen Thread and attach with a mini glue dot.

Welcome to my blog!  One of my favorite stamp sets right now is Timeless Tulips.  It has a matching punch (no die-cutting machine needed!) and the variety of sentiments covers almost any occasion!

I'm playing along with the Theme Challenge at Global Design Project this week - Spring & Easter.

My tulips are stamped in Flirty Flamingo, Mango Melody & Highland Heather.  The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz.

The card base is Thick Whisper White, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored on the long side at 4-1/4".  Layered on top of that is a 5-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Soft Seafoam cardstock.  I used the largest stamp from Artisan Textures to add background texture.

The tulips are resting on a Stitched Nested Label.  I took a 6" piece of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, folded it in half and adhered it with a bit of Snail where it would be covered by the greeting.  The greeting is raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

If you need a card in a hurry, this is fun & simple.  Change out the sentiment to suit your needs!

Timeless Tropical

Hi Friends,

Today I'm sharing a card I made with the Timeless Tropical Bundle.  The gorgeous colors in the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper are what initially drew me to this Suite...so fresh and cheerful.

This is just one of many cards I've created using the Timeless Tropical stamps & dies -

Here are the details:

Soft Suede card base, 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", scored at 4-1/4"

So Saffron 4" x 5-1/4"

Whisper White panel for the inside 4" x 5-1/4"

Whisper White panel for the outside 2-3/8' x 3-3/4"

Soft Suede Stitched Rectangle 2-5/8" x 4"

Designer Paper 2" x 4"

I stamped the palm trees on the So Saffron cardstock twice using So Saffron ink.  The sun is created by punching a 2" circle in a Post-It sticky note and using it as a mask, sponge the sun with Mango Melody ink on a sponge dauber.  The sentiment and palm trees in front of the sun are stamped in Early Espresso.

The leaves and flowers are all die-cut using the In The Tropics dies (part of the bundle).  A glue dot is all that's needed to hold the small pieces in place.  The stamped oval sentiment is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Tip:

I love the Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack.  The black color virtually disappears under your embellishments and having 2 sizes to choose from means you always have the size you need!

On this one, I added a Tropical Oasis Trinket from the Suite and a couple more leaves and flowers to take up the extra space on the oval.
