Fresh Treats for You

Hi Stampers,

Today I'm sharing another project made with the Wood Words Bundle.

My "fresh treats" are going to be homemade cookies.  This crate is the perfect size to hold three of your favorites!

I used the Hardwood stamp to make the woodgrain design.  The colors are Crumb Cake ink on matching cardstock.  The "fresh treats" banner is a 1/2" strip of Dapper Denim cardstock flagged on one end using the Triple Banner Punch.  The star is cut from a Copper Foil Sheet using the Wood Words framelits.  The cute little tag is also part of the framelit set and tied on with a piece of Linen Thread.

The 3"x 3" notecard is made from Crumb Cake cardstock.  The 1/2" strip across the center is Sahara Sand cardstock.  All of the stamping is done with Dapper Denim, and the heart is die-cut.

Visit yesterday's blog post for more details on stamping the woodgrain and assembling the crate.

Hello, Friend - A Treat for You!

Hi Stampers,

Today I'm sharing some ideas for treat packaging using the new Wood Words Bundle. I've been having so much fun with this set!

I used "country" colors on these projects - Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.  What a perfect way to make someone's day by giving them this sweet little gift!

Here's the little note card I tucked inside the crate.  It's a piece of 3" x 6" Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored & folded into a 3" x 3" card.  The first layer is Dapper Denim.  I stamped the spray of flowers from the stamp set diagonally across a 3" x 3" piece using Dapper Denim ink and die-cut it with the Layering Squares Framelits.  The next layer is a piece of regular weight Whisper White.  I stamped the same spray of flowers in Sahara Sand and die-cut it with the 1-5/8" square from my Stitched Shapes Framelits.  "Hello Friend" is stamped in Dapper Denim on a 1/2" strip of Sahara Sand cardstock and flagged on both ends with the Triple Banner Punch.  The rooster is stamped in Dapper Denim on Whisper White cardstock and die-cut with the matching framelit.

I constructed the crate from Thick Whisper White cardstock.  The Hardwood background stamp is perfect to use for this.  I stamped it with Sahara Sand ink on Whisper White.  I love the Hardwood stamp for this because you can turn any color of cardstock into a wood-look crate!  One piece of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock will make 2 crates with very little waste.

Begin by laying the background stamp face up and ink it thoroughly.

Take a piece of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Whisper White cardstock and lay it on the stamp.  Rub the entire surface of the cardstock firmly against the stamp and lift it straight up.

There it is - perfect wood texture!  The Thick Whisper White cardstock holds its shape really well for this project.  The framelit cuts and scores 1/2 of the crate, so you'll need to cut 2 and assemble them.  Just fold on the scorelines and use Tear & Tape Adhesive on the tabs.  This is the perfect adhesive for three dimensional projects like bags and boxes.

To decorate the front of the crate, I stamped "farmer's market" with Dapper Denim ink and die-cut it with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The stars are also stamped using Dapper Denim, only on Sahara Sand cardstock.  These are cut with framelits included in the bundle (there are also moon & heart framelits!) I attached the 2 stars to the circle using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and attached the entire piece to the front of the crate as one unit with the same glue.

My crate holds 4 Lindor Truffles - what will you put in yours?

If you need a larger card than the 3 x 3 note card to write your thoughts, you might want to make the card on the left instead.  That would leave room in the crate for more truffles-always a good thing!! The beautiful floral spray on the card front was stamped twice before attaching the horizontal greeting piece.

I tucked my crate inside a clear 4" x 9" treat bag purchased at the local craft store in the candy making aisle and tied it with a piece of 5/8" burlap ribbon.

I hope you like this project!

Daisy Delight Pocket Card

Hi, friends!

Have you made your wish list from the new Stampin' Up catalog yet?  Mine is pretty long...I'm having a lot of fun with my Daisy Delight Bundle while I decide what to buy next.  Today I made a sweet little pocket card with it!

Isn't that cute?  The base of this card is made from Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  The designer paper on the pocket flap is part of the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper.

To make this card, start with a piece of 4-1/4" x 11" cardstock.  Score the long side at 1-1/4" & 5-1/2".  Score the short side at 3/8" & 3-7/8".  Trim the 3/8" sides.  Your cardstock should look like this:

Fold into a pocket.  The designer paper is 1-1/4" x 3-1/2".  Adhere to top flap and round corners on flap and top of card.  Stamp greeting using Old Olive ink.   Assemble card using Tear & Tape Adhesive or Fast Fuse on the 3/8" tabs.

Wrap a piece of Berry Burst 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon around the pocket just below the flap and secure with Snail adhesive.  Place the seam so that it will be covered by the daisy.   Stamp 2 daisies in Berry Burst ink on Berry Burst cardstock.  Punch with the Daisy Delight punch and adhere together using a drop of Multipurpose Liquid Glue in the center of the daisy.  Roll the petals around a pencil to give them shape, and adhere to the card front with one Stampin' Dimensional.  Let the daisy hang off the side of the card by about 1/2".  The center is embellished with a Clear Faceted Gem.  On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, stamp 2 leaves in Old Olive and one in Pear Pizzazz.  Stamp each outline in Memento Black.  You'll have to fussy-cut these - it's not hard! Tuck leaves under the daisy and adhere with Glue Dots.

The inside is Whisper White, stamped in Berry Burst.  Round the top corners.

Don't forget to embellish the envelope.  It's like a preview of the main event - your beautiful work of art!
